Hand circumference has long been the easiest way to find the right glove size. One measurement is enough to get close to the right fit.

Hand circumference with measuring tape Recommended
Wrap a measuring tape around your palm, just below the knuckles, without including the thumb. The measuring tape should lie against the skin without squeezing or being loose. Read the measurement in centimeters and enter it in the calculator above.
Measure the hand you use most. It is usually a few millimeters larger than the other.

The table is a guide. If you are exactly between two sizes, choose the larger one if you plan to wear a liner glove underneath; otherwise, choose the smaller one.
Measure with string
Don't have a measuring tape? A piece of string or a strip of paper works just as well. Wrap it around your palm in the same place as above, just below the knuckles, without including the thumb. Mark where it meets itself.
Lay the string straight against a ruler and read the length in centimeters. Enter the measurement in the calculator above.
A piece of string can stretch or slip slightly during measurement. For accuracy, measure twice.
Print and measure
Print this page to get a reference line to measure against. First, make sure the printer is set to 100% scale (not "fit to page"), otherwise the measurements will be inaccurate.
Place your hand flat against the paper with your fingers together and your thumb pointing outward. Trace the outline around your hand. Then measure the width across your knuckles (the widest point, without the thumb) against your printed check line or a ruler, and compare it with the table under "Hand circumference with measuring tape".
Compare with a glove that already fits
Do you have a glove at home that you know fits well? Lay it flat on a table. Measure the width straight across the palm, at the widest point, without the thumb.
Multiply the measurement by approximately 2 for an approximate hand circumference, and compare it with the table under "Hand circumference with measuring tape" or the calculator at the top.

Our children's gloves are categorized by age rather than hand circumference.

If the child is between two age ranges, choose the larger size. Their hand will grow, and a slightly roomy glove will last longer.
